Starving Students Movers are thieves

Recently we had Starving Students of Oakland do our move.  I am pretty disgusted with them.  They stole my son's I-Pad.  Please do not trust these people if you are planning a move.  They are a bunch of hoodlums and crooks.  Do not have these people move your things.  If you do, make sure that you watch them carefully.  We filed a police report on them and I am certain that they investigated, but we are not out of an I-Pad and maybe even more.  They are a bunch of thieves.

They should call these people Starving Thieves, not Starving Students.  Bunch of thieves.

I came across this place while searching for a used van and purchased one. Here's what I have to say. Take me seriously and believe every word I say.

Stay away from this place. Liars, cheats, scoundrels. Never buy a vehicle from these people. Everything seemed fine. While I was signing the paperwork, one of their workers drove the car off the lot and replaced a fuse for the ABS and brakelight idiot lights. They had taken it out so those lights would not go on to make me think there was no problem. I got taken by these f*&(&ers. $800 to fix. They put stop leak in the radiator to hide leak problems, possibly the water pump. These people are sick. Don't go near this place. They are very dishonest and the scum of the earth. Stay away. Bunch of low-life thiefs. Crud. Garbage. Liars. Cheats. Scum. Sickos.

Chabot College Flea Market - December 20

DandL CREATIONS will be at Chabot College Flea Market this weekend and we will be selling our newest hand-made products made of shells. SPACE 400-401. The Cheesesteak Shop Opens in Hayward

The Cheesesteak Shop has now opened in Hayward. Went to Amato's on Monday in Cupertino expecting a fantastic sandwich. Not quite. Been getting my Cheesesteak's over in Castro Valley and those are better than Amato's. Have had some really great Cheesesteak's over the years in New Jersey, but Cheesesteak Shop's are pretty decent.

We shall be getting a Cheesesteak Shop in Hayward. Passed by it and it looks like they have quite a bit of work getting it ready and it looks like it might be open in another month. This is located on Hesperian Blvd in the mini-mall that has Target located in it.

Has anybody been to Calvin's World Famous Philly Cheesesteaks located at 1411 The Alameda in San Jose. Opened earlier this year and I have read mixed reviews on it in Yelp.

Chabot College Flea Market

Hi People. DandL CREATIONS (shoulder bags, fannypacks and a lot more) will be in spaces 538 and 539 this Saturday, September 20 at the Chabot College Flea Market on Hesperian Blvd. in Hayward. This is one of the better flea market around and there are sure to be lots of vendors. We should be all set up by 9:00 and will close between 2-3:00PM. We will have a reduced setup and will not have our wrap-skirts and we will not set up the canopy. Just a bunch of grids and tables this time to make things easier.

So, come on down. Have had a lot of people asking about the Flea Market when we did the Zucchini and Castro Valley Fall Festival. We only do this flea market 2-3 times during the year and might be there one more time this year.

Take over Robberies In Oakland, Hayward,Ca

People, please be cautious when visiting restaurants anyplace in Bay Area. It's getting bad out there. Happening all over the place. Looks like there are a number of 'copy cats' out there. When you go to a restaurant, please bring a minimum of ACTUAL CASH and remain aware of your surroundings. Try to insist that "the owners' keep the doors locked!

Best 'Fast Food' in Hayward

Here's a small listing of the best fast food restaurants in the city of Hayward, CA.

Val's Burgers, 2115 Kelly St, Hayward, CA (510) 889-8257 Great burgers!!! Rather expensive. This place has been voted as having the Best Hamburgers in Hayward, CA and they are telling the truth. The Papa Burger is gigantic and a meal in itself.

Porky's Pizza Palace, 1221 Manor Blvd, San Leandro, CA Really good pizza - privately owned. This is located in San Leandro, but we have nothing better in Hayward!

Sam's Quarter Pound Burgers 18401 Hesperian Blvd San Lorenzo (best burgers on west side of Highway 880, etc.)

London Fish and Chips 18890 Hesperian Blvd. (Best Fish & Chips in town!!)

Caesar's Chicken Inc. 19450 Hesperian Blvd (great chicken! However, old (retired) owners ran the place better and the food was better. However, it's still pretty good and you can also get spaghetti, ravioli, french fries, potatoe salad, etc.

So, there you go people. Some of the best take-out food Hayward has to offer. Hayward does have a number of other fine dining restaurants. I have been going to these places for many years.

Togo's on Hesperian is pretty good, as are just about all the other ones...except for the one on Jackson Street. Ordered a roast beef and cheese, etc. sandwich and for some ridiculous reason, they did not include the roast beef... never went there the next 5 years!!!

I lived in Alameda many years ago and in 1974, I began getting delicious sandwiches at Dimitra's on Park Street. 1251 Park St (between Encinal Ave & San Antonio Ave) Alameda, CA 94501 (510) 521-3737. Click here to see some 'Yelp' reviews on this place. At one time, there were three locations, one on Central (near Webster St) and another location. However, the third location closed down many years ago and the one on Central just closed down about a year ago because the owners have sold the business, moved to Florida, etc. This place puts Subway to shame. I live in Hayward and I still go here for sandwiches and eat them alongside the water at the old Alameda Naval Air Station, reminiscing about my days stationed there.

Back in the 70's there was a pizza take out named Chef Romano's and was located out on Bay Farm Island. This place is in my all-time Take out food HALL OF FAME. Been gone for ages, but the pizza was the best I had ever eaten.

Is Scavenging a big money maker?

Or should the title of this be "How I make $50,000 a year digging through other people's trash." That is something I do not wish to try. No telling what is going to bite you!!!

I have a clean-up day coming soon whereby I set out all my 'unwanteds, furniture, toys, junk, etc.' near the curb for the local Waste Management to come by and pick up. I have been doing this for years. Many years ago, our city used to have a general clean-up day whereby EVERYBODY would participate on the very same day and there would be stuff lining curbs for miles and miles around. One evening, I was coming home from work at 12:30AM (just before the pickup) and everybody had their stuff near the street. I was two blocks from home and I could not drive down the street because there were about a dozen cars parked in the middle of the street and people were racing up and down the street looking for 'goodies'. There were cars all over the place.

I thought about putting up barricades and charging a $10.00 'rummage fee' per car to enter. Or better yet, you could put on some kind of orange jumpsuit (or bright flourescent yellow so these people can see you) stick on an official-looking patch and tell these people that they have to pay some kind of $10.00 fee for environmental something or other. With your computer, you can design and print out a legitimate-looking ID badge, run down to Office Depot and buy a good-quality (if they have good quality) ID plastic/leather ID badgeholder and attach it my shirt. And I could get away with it.

Nowadays, you schedule an appointment for your own 'personal yearly pickup,' and they come by on the designated day and haul your stuff away. Much better. They ADVISE you not to put the stuff outside until the night before or better yet, the morning of the pickup for reasons I have stated above.

On regular garbage pickup days, I see people strolling the neighborhoods rummaging through the recyclable bins and removing the things they can get quick $$$$ on and dumping them in those big black heavy-duty (re-useable) plastic bags. They usually drive older beat-up cars, so either that's a disguise or they aren't making big bucks off the stuff....just meal money so they don't have to eat Top Ramen or Cup of Noodles all the time. I suppose the 'flea market people' roll in with their pickups earlier and retrieve furniture, toys, used toilets, mirrors, etc. I live on a cul-de-sac (no exit) in a decent neighborhood and these people really scour the place. Maybe somebody wrote publications showing the best neighborhoods to do your scavenging.

Okay...now my question is... Do you think that a lot of people are making decent sums of money and do you see a lot of scavengers around? I have a lot to say about all of this, but I really do not want to take up a lot of space on this blog. Some people might not be interested in reading this. So, in a couple days, I am going to have a continuation of this topic on one of my websites: Starving Vendors and you can read to your heart's content and you can provide me with your comments on this blog for all to read.
